WOMEN'S FOOTY

The Seattle Grizzlies Women’s Team was founded in 2016. The women had a successful inaugural season, with the first ever home game played against Vancouver in June, and representation at both Western Regionals and Nationals.

In October 2016, the Grizzlies combined with Portland, Tampa, and Arizona and swept Women’s D2 Nationals, taking home their first championship trophy.

In the 2017 season, they worked with Portland and the Vancouver women’s team to create a Northwest Women’s season. In October 2017, the Seattle Grizzlies women's team brought a full team to Nationals and placed 5th.

In 2018, the women came roaring into Nationals D1, clawing their way up the ranks and took home 2nd place after a close finals game where they admirably played down 2 players with no subs. After only being formed for a year and a half, with excellent skill and determination they are now ranked among the top teams in the nation.

The 2019 season saw the return of an excellent squad, again placing second in Nationals D1 with the grand final match being described as “one of the best games of footy I’ve ever watched”, a quote echoed by multiple people in and out of the club.

We are actively recruiting women of all skill levels to come have a kick. Reach out to us at contact@seattlearfc.com to find our next practice time and give it a try!
